If you read my post from last week you will know that I'm on a mission to restore my heat frazzled hair to smooth, shiny glory and hopefully encourage it to grow a few inches too!

I've managed to go an entire week without straightening it - ok, I straightened it on Saturday but that's all - and I've been mostly letting it air dry rather than blast it with a hairdryer for ten minutes.

Last night I used this hair mask from Avon. I received this as a free gift in my last Avon order - I can't seem to find it on their website so unfortunately I can't tell you how much it would have been, maybe it's only available in the book?

The instructions on the back of the tube say to apply it evenly over wet hair after shampooing, leave for three minutes and then rinse. There's no other information on the tube (in English anyway) to specify what the mask does, other than the fact that it is a 'nourishing hair smoothing mask'.

Well it can't hurt to try it.

My hair is quite thick so I squeezed out about an egg sized amount and spread it through my hair, avoiding the roots in case it made it greasy. I patiently waited three minutes before rinsing out. My hair felt just as it would after using a conditioner - no knots or tangles, easy to brush out.

I let my hair dry naturally and it did feel pretty soft, although I'm not sure if this is down to just the mask or ditching the hot irons. There was no greasy residue left in my hair so it gets a thumbs up from me. 

The mask had a lovely smell but unfortunately this didn't linger in my hair. That's not really a major negative, I just like my hair to smell nice!

I'm going to use this again, maybe once a week; one use isn't really enough to base a review on so I'll keep going with it to see if it makes any improvement to the condition of my hair.

Do you recommend any other hair masks?
