No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Island Sea Swatch

This is just a really quick post to show the No7 eyeshadow from this post, as requested by Gemma from peachesxo
You'll have to excuse my shoddy eyeliner skills, I applied it all in a bit of a rush, as you can see!
The colour is a lovely sea green - it's not something I ever would have chosen for myself but I'm really glad I have it; I will definitely be wearing this a lot over the coming months!

Products used:
MAC Prep & Prime
No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow in Island Sea
Bourjois Liner Feutre in Noir
No7 Lash 360 Mascara in Black

If You Buy One Thing In April...

Eye Relaxer Soothing Gel Eye Mask
Various prices from Amazon

My boyfrind bought me this because sitting in front of a computer screen day in day out sometimes gives me headaches and tired, sore eyes.
You pop this baby in the fridge for an hour, or the freezer for 10 minutes so the gels gets really cold, then wrap around your head and relax.
This has seen me through many hangovers and colds and if I just feel puffy in general it is a great pick me up!

Avon Super Shock Mascara

Avon Super Shock Mascara 10ml £5.00

This mascara was a free gift with one of my mum's Avon orders a while back and she gave it to me as she doesn't really wear a lot of mascara.

It's been at the bottom of my make-up bag for weeks so I decided last week to try it out as I'm coming to the end of my Clinique trial sized mascara and I still haven't gotten around to buying a new one, tut tut!
I've never used Avon mascara before and sadly after using this I am not too keen to try any others.

They Say: "Thickening base coat and plumping colour in one for volumised lashes."

I Say: To start with, the brush is huge. Like seriously massive. My eyes are not exactly super wide so I admit I was a bit daunted and did actually end up poking myself in the eye quite severely! I continued on with it though to see if it lived up to its description.

Due to the size of the brush, rather than upward sweeps I ended up doing zig zag sweeps over my lashes to avoid getting the product on my skin above my eyes.

It does make my lashes look very thick and dark which I love, however I wouldn't say it has particularly volumised them.

Its staying power isn't as good as other mascaras I've tried - at the end of the day I've looked in the mirror to see that it has smudged over my upper eye - not a good look! My skin my be oily but I can't say this is a problem I've had with other mascaras.

Despite this, when it came to remove it with a make-up wipe it didn't want to go anywhere! I used a baby wipe to clean the majority off which took quite a bit of work, and when I came to wash my face I was left with little black 'bits' all over my face. Again, I've never come across this problem with any other mascara!

Would I repurchase? Unfortunately not! For me, the negative points far outweigh the only positive I found which was thicker lashes.

Have you used this mascara? Let me know if you had a better experience than me with it!

Sunday Nails - Jessie J Inspired

I'm a bit in love with Jessie J's pink sequined lips in her Price Tag video so I thought I'd try and do something similar with my nails.

I used Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Swizzles and I found this sparkly pink glitter eyeliner from Beauty UK for only £1.49! As an eyeliner I think it would be pretty useless because the brush is quite bushy but it was great for coating my nails!

A topcoat is defintaly needed with this otherwise the glitter will just wash off in the shower!

Pamper Yourself For Less Than £5

I love a good pamper.
Especially after the gym on a Friday night to mark the end of the week and to get refreshed for the weekend.

You don't have to spend a fortune either to put a basic pampering kit together so yesterday lunchtime, armed with my last £5 in the world, I challenged myself to find the essential beauty basics on a very limited budget.

This is what I decided on:

Radox Moisture Soak - 99p; Mudd Sea Mask - £1.01;
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner - 99p; Coconut & Shea Butter Body Butter - £1
All from Superdrug.

I also treated myself to an MUA lipstick in shade 4 - £1.

It looks shockingly pink in the tube but it is actually very sheer and wearable. It applies like a dream and is incredibly creamy and moisturising.

This brings the grand total to...£4.99!

Clearly they are not the most luxurious items available but I just wanted to show that you can buy everything you need for a relaxing makeshift spa evening without breaking the bank!

Samples and travel sized items are a great buy if you are looking to try something new or you are simply on a tight budget.

I hope you all have a lovely Friday night; I'm off to soak in a hot Radox bath while my face and hair masks do their work!

What I Wore - Bird Print

Bird Top - Topshop
Skirt - H&M

What I Wore - Stripes and Ripped Jeans

Top - H&M
Jeans - River Island

I'm not usually one to wear jeans as they make me feel uncomfortable, but I will always make an exception for this pair when the sun is shining! They are straight leg turn ups with a faded appearance and rips all down the legs - they are also super comfortable! I need more like this!

Repairing My Hair - Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment

I have only used hair straighteners twice this week, it’s going well!

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment 200ml
£7.14

I’ve read a lot of good reviews about this product and after finding it sold out in Boots a couple of times, I finally managed to get my hands on it two weeks ago.

This product claims to “address hair and scalp ageing at a cellular level whilst providing an improvement in strength to give body and texture by penetrating the hair reaching the inner cortex. Also improves the volume and feel of the hair."

The instructions specify to use it with every wash until your hair improves and then continue to use it once a week to maintain the condition of your hair.

I usually wash my hair every day, so I have been applying an egg sized amount to my hair every day for two weeks.
After two weeks my hair has been left feeling a lot softer and less dry. I don’t think it’s grown any longer yet but I’m going to buy another tub and keep on using it once a week to see if it makes any difference to the length of my hair.

Five minutes is quite a long time to sit and wait for a product to work, so I’ve swapped my morning shower for an evening shower so I am able to give it the full amount of time to work.

£7 is quite pricey for a hair mask but at the moment I am happy to pay it because I can definitely see a noticeable difference in the condition of my hair.

Have you used this? Did it make any difference to your hair?

Hangover Face

Hangover Sunday's are usually spent sat in my dressing gown on the sofa drinking Diet Coke and watching the repeat of Take Me Out - this always involves little to no makeup and pretty questionable hair.
Today however I had to actually get properly dressed to go down the pub to watch the football with the boy and his friends. I don't do it very often but today it was nice, seeing as the weather is more bearable to go out in. I didn't have time last night to take a photo of my makeup (I give myself three hours to get ready and it still turns into a mad rush) so I thought I'd show you today's makeup instead.

Sunday Nails - 3D Flowers

Here are the flowers from this post in action!

I didn't go too crazy as it was my first go, but I love them! I used Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Button Moon (£1.79) on my nails and chose pink flowers to contrast.

It was weird having them on my nails at first - trying to get dressed and tie my hair up was a task! But I think I've got more used to them now and I'm keep to glue more on!

What do you think?

Bubblegum Pink

Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Lipstick in Bubblegum
£2.99

I don't think I've bought anything from Collection 2000 since I was in secondary school and I used their liquid liners to paint tattoo's on myself...yeah, I was cool! Their packaging seems to have been greatly improved since I was fourteen though and it looks so much more pretty and appealing.

I nipped into Boots on my lunch hour to check out some lippies. I've always been a sheer or toned down lipstick kinda gal, but I want to be a bit more daring! I'm going out tomorrow night so I wanted something bright to wear on my lips. It's a week before pay day so I also wanted something fairly cheap. I browsed reds, corals and pinks and finally settled for a very full on pink! It certainly wasn't the brightest pink they had, but it was definitely one of the top three - pink shock and sweet tart were the other contenders but I will save them for a later date.

Eager as always, I rushed straight back to work and applied it right away.
I do remember owing some of their lipsticks as a young teenager and I remember it being quite dry, so I was really pleasantly surprised to discover how lush and creamy this is! It applies like a dream and the colour is so pigmented - it's fair to say I am in love with this lipstick and I'm looking forward to wearing it out tomorrow night!

What do you think of Bubblegum Pink?
